i feel this odd mini triumph every time i notice that a woman has turned her sparkly engagement ring around on the subway. most often, the lady doesn't enter the train with it this way, but the turning coincides with the entrance of a passenger deemed sketchy in her mind...someone she feels might steal from her. sometimes, the ring doesn't even look that covetable...to me. i'm amused.
